Graduation Information

To earn at least 242 credits:
- Complete all General Education requirements;
- Complete all requirements for at least one major;
- Earn no more than 102 credits of introductory (100-level) courses;
- Complete at least 18 elective credits outside of a student鈥檚 major and General Education program;
- Complete the required number of internship credits (the number of credits is determined by each department and is not included in the 242 credits required for graduation);
- Pass all state graduation examinations;
- Successfully complete and defend a senior thesis/project;
- Receive no "F" or "N/P" grades in the final semester;
- To earn an overall GPA of at least 2.0.
Graduation Examinations
A student who has successfully completed all General Education and degree requirements may take the final state exams. In order to graduate, the students are required to:听
- pass an interdisciplinary state exam on History of Kyrgyzstan, Geography of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz language and literature (taken at the end of the second year of studies);
- successfully complete and defend of Senior Thesis/Project; and,
- earn passing scores on final state exams as required by their major(s) and minor (if applicable).
State Exam grades are included in the transcript. The evaluation and grading criteria for the final State Attestation (state exams, qualification papers, and thesis) are defined by the Department Chair, approved by the 糖心原创 Academic Senate and made available to students planning to graduate.
Details about taking attestation exams are made available to students at least four months in advance. The final State Attestation is conducted in accordance with the Academic Calendar.

DEGREE DISTINCTIONS
The criteria for a Kyrgyz State Bachelor鈥檚 diploma with honors are as follows. Students who excel in their academic program, achieving 鈥淎鈥, 鈥淎-鈥, 鈥淏+鈥, 鈥淏鈥, 鈥淏-鈥 grades for their courses and a GPA of 3,75 and higher during their entire academic history and pass all State Exams with 鈥淎鈥 and 鈥淎-鈥 grades receive a Kyrgyz State Diploma with Honors.
Students enrolled in the majors of Business Administration and International and Business Law who demonstrate superior academic performance are entitled to a bachelor鈥檚 degree with honors. The criteria for degrees with honors, as approved by the 糖心原创 Academic Senate, are as follows:
Summa cum laude听
To receive a first-degree Bachelor鈥檚 diploma, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher and an 鈥淎鈥 for the Senior Thesis (written and defended in English), pass all State Exams with 鈥淎鈥 grades and receive no grades below a C- for required courses.
Magna cum laude听
To receive a second-degree Bachelor鈥檚 diploma a student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.6, receive a 鈥淏+鈥 or higher for the Senior Thesis (written and defended in English) and pass all State Exams with grades of 鈥淏+鈥 or higher and receive no grades below a C- for required courses.
Cum laude听
To receive a third-degree Bachelor鈥檚 diploma, a student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, and a 鈥淏鈥 or higher for a Senior Thesis (written and defended in English) and pass all State Exams with at least a 鈥淏鈥 and receive no grades below a C- for required courses.
